The University of West Alabama’s homecoming activities begin on Wednesday with the annual Serendipity talent show, where the reunion tribunal will be featured.
UWA and West Florida kick off Saturday at 4 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
Students will compete in four categories during the show which will begin Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Lyon Hall Quad. The field will be presented on Wednesday, and the queen of the reunion announced at half-time during the match on Saturday.
The annual bonfire, cheering rally and fireworks display will take place at the Intramural Sports Complex on Thursday at 8 p.m. Following the cheer gathering, the Student Engagement Office will host a DJ and band night for UWA students.
On Friday, UWA Baseball and UWA Softball will host a 3-Way Alumni Scramble at the Livingston Country Club. The event begins with a lunch at 11:30 am, followed by a start time at 1:00 pm. The annual UWA Alumni Party sponsored by the National Alumni Association and the Office of Alumni Affairs begins at 6 p.m. in the courtyard of the Bell Conference Center on campus. Admission is included with membership in the NAA. Alumni can also renew their NAA membership at the door.
The UWA Campus School will be hosting Parents’ Night during Alumni Day for children 6 weeks and older from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The cost for a family is $ 25 for the first child and $ 15 per additional child, which includes pizza and drinks. Events will continue ahead of the game on Saturday. An alumni awards reception will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 28. Colleges will present their awards for the achievements of alumni and emerging leaders. There will be new inductees to the UWA Sports Hall of Fame. The national alumni association will also award prizes.
Colleges and divisions will welcome alumni for a picnic on Foust Lawn from 11:30 am.
The free, family-friendly Homecoming Festival, Tiger Cubs and Tailgate, begins at 2 p.m. on the school lawn on campus. There will also be a tailgate party honoring former Livingston University football coach Frank North behind Tiger Stadium at 2pm.
