In something that looks like a return to normal on the Jersey Shore, while still meeting state guidelines and restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, Seaside Heights will host a full program of offers for the next one. Easter holiday weekend – which unofficially marked the start of the season for many boarding companies for generations.

According to the borough’s Business Improvement District, the high-tech version of the resort’s popular annual Easter egg hunt will continue on Saturday and Sunday, as detailed in this previous article. The big annual Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach pre-season ticket sale will run throughout the weekend, and many attractions at the pier are open. Season Beach badges can be purchased on Saturdays.

“Most of the businesses along the promenade will be bustling with activities, fun activities, interesting items for sale and favorite promenade foods,” said Michael Redpath, director of the organization.

Seaside Heights season beach badges (regular season and senior beach badges) will be available for sale (cash only) or to pick up previously purchased badges on Saturday at Borough Hall (901 boulevard) from 12 a.m. to 3 p.m. Badges can be purchased in advance through the VIPLY smartphone app.

Participants in the egg hunt can hunt at their leisure from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Easter Saturday or Sunday. The free event is geared towards kids, with “C-Side the Easter Rabbit” offering hints and encouragement throughout. Families can enjoy an egg hunt on the boardwalk while respecting social distancing through the use of scannable QR codes. Families will be able to “hunt” at their leisure during designated times and participate in the prizes without touching anything other than their smartphone.

Each family or group that participates in the Hunt and completes an online registration will receive at least one prize coupon by mail. Coupon prizes range from day-long beach badges and pizza slices to arcade games.

To participate in a bonus raffle, hunters can take a photo of their hunting party, properly masked, with one of the egg clue posters. The photo is then included in the online hunt registration form. Hunters are invited to visit www.exit82.com/egghunt before leaving home to access full instructions and a guide they can download, print and take with them on the hunt.
