Putnam County Libraries Announce November Activity Schedule – Shaw Local

Putnam County Libraries has announced its November activity schedule for the following locations.

All locations will be closed November 11 for Veterans Day and November 24-25 for Thanksgiving.

Hennepin, 214 N. Fourth St.

The bad craft of the month will be Oreo turkeys. Pickup is during library hours.

National Donut Day will be celebrated with a free donut at the library on the morning of Friday, November 4.

The PCCC outreach worker will be at the library from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 10. The worker will discuss benefits and services available to seniors.

Cricut MakerSpace will be held all day Thursday, November 17 and Friday, November 18. Crafty adults are welcome. This month’s craft is Thanksgiving etched glass. Call ahead to reserve a spot.

Homework help will be available to students at the library during opening hours.

Granville, 214 S. McCoy Street

November’s Make and Take crafting will be available throughout the month. This month’s craft is an Eye-Spy activity.

Flutes for Vets will take place at 5:30 p.m. on November 8. Kenneth Troyan will play native flutes at the library in honor of veterans.

Prairie State Primer will take place at 6 p.m. November 15. John Lynn will discuss how Illinois got its name as a prairie state.

Granville Storytime will be at 1 p.m. every Wednesday in October. The event will feature stories and activities.

The Book Discussion Group will meet the second and fourth Monday of each month at 1 p.m. There is no assigned book to read and the event is led by the group.

Putnam, 105 N. Center St.

Books, brunch and bingo will be held on Saturday November 5th. The event will feature food, books and bingo.

Magnolia, 112 N. Chicago St.

Storytime will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 5. The book will be “I Spy Jar”.

Kids Pick Movie Night will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 10. It’s a movie and pizza night.

Tie Dye Tile Coaster will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 19.

M/P Extension Office Ag in the Classroom: Turkeys will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22.

Homework help will be available to students during library opening hours.

McNabb, 322 Main Street West.

Bad Art Craft, Oreo turkeys, will be on offer throughout the month. This craft is available for takeout and can be picked up during library hours.

The Mason Jar Fairy Light Craft will be offered at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2.

History of Coca-Cola by Dick Volker will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15. Volker has worked with the company for over 40 years and has created a company history dating back to its origin.

The A World Gone Bad: World War I event will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 17. Historian Jim Gibbons will take visitors through the first of the two most catastrophic wars in our country’s history.
