BREVARD COUNTY ⢠PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Greater Palm Bay Seniors Activity Center held a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday morning to celebrate its grand reopening. Over $ 425,000 in renovations and improvements have been made with funds provided by a Community Development Block Grant.
The renovations include the replacement and repair of various systems and components of the center and the adjacent carpentry shop.
Interior renovations included repairing flooring, installing insulated and hurricane-resistant windows and doors, and upgrading facility doors, bathrooms and water fountains.
Exterior renovations to the facility included repairing mortar joints, replacing siding, upgrading LED lighting throughout the property, and replacing the old pedestrian bridge. Repairs were also made to the existing ducts and grilles for the HVAC system.

Facility features including sidewalks, exterior landings, exterior ramps and parking areas have been improved to ensure ADA compliance and accessibility.
Improvements were also made to the carpentry shop facility to comply with current standards set out by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Kitchen cabinets and countertops were replaced and repairs to the irrigation system were made as well.
