Walking aerobics, zumba, tai chi, yoga, card games, a walk on the trails and a health fair are some of the programs and activities that the senior activity center of Lewes will be offering its second annual Active Aging Week from Sunday, October 2 through Friday, October 2. 7. All programs and demonstrations are free and open to the public.
The events will kick off with a Zumba/LaBlast-athon fundraiser from 1 to 3 p.m., October 2, in the center’s main lobby, with a $10 donation at the door. All proceeds will be donated to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. Instructors Pamm Pauley and Cindy Beaver will provide great training for a good cause.
The program also includes a presentation on Medicare and an ice cream social, Paint Night with Judy, Cooking with Dave, crafts and board games.
Lunch will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on Friday for $5. The week will be capped off with a dance party with DJ Sharon Messina from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday.

The week’s offerings will familiarize attendees with activities that center members enjoy year-round and give visitors the opportunity to tour the newly renovated and expanded center.
The Lewes Seniors Activity Center promotes the health and well-being of people aged 50 and over, offering fitness and exercise classes, arts and crafts classes, social gatherings , affordable travel and community service opportunities for its members.
