Lewes Senior Activity Center re-elects board members

The Lewes Senior Activity Center announced that Sue Elliot, Cheryl Buxton and John Walker have been re-elected to serve on the board of directors at the annual membership meeting on June 9.

Elliot, who served on the board for three years, will begin his second term. She has been an active volunteer with the center for five years and has served on several boards in the Washington, DC metro area. She holds a master’s degree in human resources and, prior to retiring to Lewes, had a 30-year career in administration at the University of Maryland.

Buxton is also entering his second three-year term. She has been an active volunteer at the center for five years. As a member of the board of directors, she served on the membership and strategic planning committees. She is a retired RN and holds a Masters in Nursing Management.

Walker is entering his third term. A volunteer at LSAC for eight years, he was secretary of the board of directors for the past three years and treasurer of the center for the three previous years. A veteran of the military, he had a 23-year career with IBM before retiring.

Located at 32083 Janice Road in Lewes, the center promotes the health and wellness of those 50 and over, offering fitness and exercise classes, arts and crafts classes, social gatherings, affordable travel and community service opportunities for its members.
